Tent City
In the early 1900s, while waiting for their Colony Homes to be built, the pioneer residents of the Colony of Atascadero fashioned a tent-city complete with dwellings, laundry, a market and even a movie "house." Each year during Colony Days, Tent City re-appears like a Central California "Brigadoon," populated by costumed artists who live out the early regimen of Atascadero, in character, for the duration of the holiday.
